You don't have to be confused with Medium--Medium is the place to write articles on
1. freelancing and content creation
2. articles related to writing
3. personal stories--romance--fiction--true crime--tech and of course self help.
for anything else other than these topics Medium is completely useless.
Medium is useless even for finance and crypto.
You can do a little bit of affiliate marketing on Medium..but even that has to be related to blogging--writing--content creation tools and any other Saas that writers and freelancers can use..only those get some kind of traction here.

For something as niche as construction SME if you can tell me more on what are you planning to do I can probably be more helpful..
If you want to get clients..you can look at Youtube only if you can make tutorials or some kind of video about the process you do..what does your business do? what problems does your business solve? frame that into questions and type that into youtube search bar and see if there are any previous searches and video results..if there are then you know it's demand for that..then you can film a similar or better video than the ones that are already ranking for similar business terms such as yours and use some youtube seo to rank your video better..
If not..if you don't want to get the hassle of making videos and getting clients..I would definitely suggest LinkedIn for such niches because Twitter is for much broader niches..LinkedIn has far better filtering and search features..you can find people in any industry directly using LinkedIn advanced search features..so add relevant connections on LinkedIn and start creating content there..
Another option would be directly run FB ads to get clients..you can run hyper targeted ads on FB.
But if your solely want to create content for construction SME..my best bet would be to add relevant connections on LinkedIn..engage with those people's content there and also post your own content..you will get far better traction..
Medium is not the place for such specific niches.
